The nub life - Nails edition (Chpt 1)

8:00 PM

Hello there Nailmates!!!

I didn't choose the nub life, the nub life chose me.
The nub life

I know...my posts have been a little scarce the last weeks and I gotta blame life for following Murphy's law, I broke my nails, had to cut  and file them and my cinderella hand has seen better days.  I broke 2 nails and it was not only awful and painful but the worst part is how they broke I haven't hand washed a single dish in  2 months, I use a brush for my hair when washing it, I don't move any type of furniture, I have been very careful while cleaning and sleeping since both are repeat offenders, it happened while I was taking some clothes out of the dryer and two of them snapped. I bet many of you know the feeling: first all the pain, then rage, anger, sadness and sense of betrayal.

day 1

I cried for a while, well more than a while, almost the whole day; for me, breaking a nail is a serious issue I would love to paint my nails, I've been trying but I can't clean my cuticles without wiping half of the polish from my nubs, it seems I forgot how hard was to create some nail art in less than one inch of surface,  I can't even get acrylics because they give me allergies, it could be all in my head but they itch and itch and itch, I had acrylics 3 times in my life and couldn't wear them for 3 days they drive me crazy, so they are a no-no for me.

Noticeable smile line.
Day 3

I guess I'm damned to  have breakages often. I use  nail straighteners, oil my nails every 2 or 3 hours , hand lotions all day and the traitors still break; paraphrasing Tupac: I didn't choose the nub life; the nub life chose me. and since it seems impossible to avoid nubbins season, so, I better make lemonade with my sour lemons. I decided to go for a series called "The nub life": a seasonal journey, care,  manicures for nubbins and a moment of silence for all our fallen comrades.

The incident as I call it: was awful and my some of my nails had nothing left no smile line, I don't think there was any free edge, it took close to a week for the smile line to even show and now we are on our way to recovery and finally  have some room for nail art so I been painting my nails, oiling them often, using hand lotion, soaking them in olive and coconut oil and it seems to be working so keep an eye for manicures tagged #TheNubLife.

I will even share my homemade cuticle oil, it makes wonders for my nails and I think  some of you might enjoy a DIY, Thank you so much for reading,

Love:
